May Moodboard

I came across this moodboard idea and I loved it and tried it out for myself. It's kind of like keeping a diary but it's of the whole month. Looking back on things you did, things you loved or just things that inspired you that month. I didn't do anything extravagant in May but it was sorta fun looking through my Instagram and just remembering the things I did this month.

The colors I used were mostly pastels because it's still Spring and it only just began to get warmer outside. I did wear more light colors and finally got to wear some dresses and skirts since it has been warmer than last month. I can't wait until it's warm enough for shorts and cute tops.

I also included a picture of the Chicago Skyline. I go to school in downtown Chicago so I see it at least 2 times a week and it really is beautiful. I'm not a big fan of school but I love how it is in the heart of the city. i just love the big buildings and little cafes.

One of my goals in life is to dye my hair pastel pink but I am such a baby :( I don't know what I'm scared of. If I don't like it I can always dye it back! I got that picture of tumblr and it just reminded e of spring and I thought it looked really cute and I just want my hair like that.

I also fell in love with keeping journals and diaries and becoming more organized. I have so many journals I don't use so i tried to find some use for them so they don't just sit around collecting dust. I am a fairly organized person and I just love writing eve thing down. Sometimes it's nice to use an actual pen and paper and take a break from your phone.

Lauren B. Nail Polish

I love painting my nails and changing the color way too often. (I hate the waiting to dry part, but who doesn't.) I got this nail polish months and months ago and I fell in love with it. I do love bright colors but I prefer the lighter more neutral shades. I never heard of this brand before and when I got it in my IPSY bag I was pretty excited. I think the packaging is so cute and to be honest that's what attracted me to it at first.

The base and top coat that I use is Sally hanses Ultimate shield. What I like about it is that you can use it as a top and base coat and that just saves money. And it dries super quick which is a plus. The nail polish shade is called City of Angels, which I think is so adorable. I love cute names for products. The nail polish does last for about a week and then it does tend to chip but thats longer than any other nail polish I have tried. I have trouble when it comes to making sure my nail polish doesn't chip and it's really annoying. This nail polish does also dry quick and it applies so nicely.

Beauty Swap

I came across a beauty swap post and now I really want to do one! Especially because makeup from other countries looks so much cooler to me. And I think it would be really fun and we could be friends and it would be all cute and stuff :,) So if anyone is interested please let me know, my contact info is in the tab above, and we can talk more about it! (I live in America so I would prefer to swap with someone outside of the U.S)

Motivational Monday

So I only had a week off from school and I have to go back tomorrow. So much for having a summer vacation. I decided to take a summer semester so that I could graduate on time. Oh how I wish I could go back to freshman year of college and care about my life and school a little bit more:,) I have no idea what I'm going to do after college but hey, at least I'll have a piece of paper that's worth like $60,000.

When you're so close to the finish line sometimes it feels like you'll never finish. And sometimes it's hard to get motivated to work hard, I know that's my problem. But if we want to be good and we want something out of life we need to work hard for it. Some people do get everything handed to them, but that's not what life is like for the most of us. It's unfair; but that's life for you. I know it's easier to just give up and not want to work that won't benefit you in the future. It's only gonna make it that much harder. try to get into the mindset where you don't want to work for other people' you want to have people work for you.

I really like this quote I found because I never though of it like that. There are people we look up to and one of our goals could be to be better then them or to compete against them. I know a lot of you are finishing school soon and having your summer vacation, well enjoy it and when September comes get ready to kick ass! If I could do it any one can :,)

Favorites of the Week #3

This weeks favorites are so not beauty related, that wasn't intentional. I had the week of from school so I didn't bother putting on makeup so I didn't dig up any new old favorites. As I was thinking about what to include for this weeks post one thing came to my mind. My cactuses. (That doesn't sound like a word.) A couple days go I wet to Home Depot with my mom and I picked out about 5 plants (I included my favorites) and I'm in love with them. They make my room feel so much more homely and cozy. I love them. And if you're lazy, like me, they don't take too much effort to keep them alive. You just have to remember to water them whenever the soil is too dry.

One other item I have been loving is the orange eos lip balm. I got this ages ago but the first time I tried it I didn't like it too much. I didn't like how it made my lips feel and I think that's because this is one of the medicated ones. One day I was in a rush and grabbed it and when I put it on I feel like it lasted for hours and hours and it made my lips feel so soft. I didn't have to keep re applying it like I do with half the lip balms I use. I still don't like how it feel's but I love how soft it makes my lips feel.

Last but not least are post it notes. I'm that weirdo that loves loves loves stationary. I saw these at Target and was so amazed about the fact they had gray sticky notes! I have never seen gray sticky notes! And I just fell in love with the color scheme and I wanted to add colors to my collection (yes I have a collection of sticky notes) that I didn't already have.

The Super Sizer Review

I think I just found my new favorite mascara, the super sizer by cover girl ! A few weeks ago I was in desperate need of a new mascara and then I see this and I didn't even take a good look at it, I just saw it was new and I liked the color so I bought it. When I got home and saw the brush I was so disappointed and I wondered why a mascara brush would look like that... Then I tried it on anyway and I fell in love with it!

Don't let the scary wand scare you. This thing is amazing. I use two coats and it makes your lashes so long and they look natural. It doesn't clump them like a lot of mascaras do and it's simply amazing. I'm kind of glad I didn't see the wand because I wouldn't buy it in the first place. I also prefer plastic wands over the brush ones so I think that may be one of the reasons I like this one so much. I just feel like the mascara goes on easier and it makes your lashes look nicer.

Nightime Face Routine

I know morning comes before evening and I should have done a morning routine first but to be honest, my morning routine consist of only one item.. so I thought that would be pretty boring. I read somewhere that it's not good to over wash your face with products so I give it a quick clean in the morning but I really take care of my face at night. I have been using the following products for over 7 months now and I have never found a product that works better on my face. I constantly get breakouts and acne but these really do make a difference.

The Body Shop's Tea Tree line is honestly one of the best things that has ever happened to me. Their products are natural and they don't harm your face with all these chemicals. They have so many different face washes and lotions from this line it's incredible. And you don't have to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars (which I have done before) I'm not going to lie and say this cleared up my face perfectly and now there isn't even one spot, because that's not true. But it has improved my skin massively.

Deep Sea Cosmetics Purifying Milk
I use this to remove my makeup before actually washing my face. I put a small amount on a cotton ball and try to wipe of as much as I can. This is also a gentle cleanser but it works well as a makeup remover. This was really expensive and I got sucked into buying it at the mall. I would never pay this much for a makeup remover but the lady that was selling it to me said it would change my life. it hasn't :,) I wouldn't buy it again but now that I have it might as well get my money's worth out of it.

Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash
I then actually wash my face with the facial wash. I wash my face for about 60 seconds and it leaves my skin feeling so fresh and it gives it a cool feeling. This product is for skin that has blemishes and it has improved it a lot. I used to get big pimples but now I get more little red spots than anything else. This also makes your skin less oily, so if you have too much oil I would recommend this.

Tea Tree Skin Cleating Lotion
To be honest I don't always use the lotion because I'm lazy, but when I do my full skin routine I will use it. This is also suppose to reduce your blemishes and it also leaves your skin feeling cool. I often use it after I use the face wash.

Tea Tree Oil
This one is by far my most favorite. I take a little bit and but it wherever I have a pimple or red spots. I'm not exaggerating but if I have a really huge pimple I will put some of the oil on it overnight and when I wake up it will get so much smaller it's almost unbelievable. I thin I repurchased this over 5 times in the past 7 months. So it does go quick but this is so worth them money.

The Beauty Blogger Tag

I thought I would do a different post today and sort of introduce myself so if anyone actually want's to know something about me here are the questions:

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
My hair is naturally very straight :/

2. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?
My mom is a hair stylist so I learned a lot from here over the years, when I first started dying my hair I would let her do it but now I can do it on my own and it doesn't look too shabby if I do say so myself.

3. Do you wear the same style everyday, or do you change it?
I try to change it from say to day but when I have school and have to wake up early I do get pretty lazy and end up doing the same thing to my face and hair.

4. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?
My own, I don't have money to get my nails done and I don't like people touching my feet..

5. How often do you change your nail polish?
At least once a week. If I don't have nail polish on I will bite my nails and it bugs me when my nail polish starts to chip so I have to re paint it ASAP.

6. Do you polish your toes in the winter or just the summer?
Haha.. I must admit, just the summer.

7. How long does it take for you to put on makeup?
When I have to be up early I take about 5 minutes (I am not a morning person!) But when I actually have time I do like to take my time with makeup, I find it fun and it takes me about 20 to 30 minutes.

8. What do you do first? Face or eyes?
My face.

9. Do you collect makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?
It depends. There are times where I go weeks without buying any makeup besides the ones I ran out of. And there are times when I go to a shop and buy a whole bunch of stuff I don't need but want to try out.

10. How often do you wear false eyelashes?
Never. I never even tried them so I'm pretty sure I would fail if I ever had to put them on. It looks hard!

11. Do you do a full face of makeup everyday?
No. If i'm staying home that day or don't really have anywhere to go I don't wear any make up at all. I used to be that girl that had to wear makeup everyday all day, wether I was just staying home or going to the grocery store. I admit, it was bad. Then I noticed how horrible my face looked without makeup and how much I would always break out and I stopped wearing makeup everyday. So now I wear it when I go out and to school.

12. Do you wear makeup when you're home alone or with family?
Nope.

13. Will you leave the house without makeup?
Oops, I answered that in question 11..

14. How many high-end products do you have?
I have a couple but tbh i'm not the person that will spend so much money on a product when there are cheaper ones that are almost identical.

15. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you're getting dressed?
Haha I'm too lazy for planning my outfits, I decided as I'm getting dressed.

16. How often do you change your handbag?
RARELY. I will use the same one for months and months and months.

17. What time do you wake up and go to sleep?
When I have to be up for school I go to sleep around 11:30 and wake up at 7. If I don't have school I go to bed around 2 and wake up at 11:00....

18. How often or when do you workout?
Haha... rarely..

19. Left handed or right handed?
Right handed.

20. How tall are you?
5 feet, 3 inches

21. Do you speak any foreign languages?
I speak Polish, and I took Spanish in high school for 4 years so I can understand it pretty well but I can't speak it :/

22. How many pets do you have?
I have a beagle. Well technically it's my brothers, but still..

23. How often are you on Blogger?
Right now, too often. I just started to get into my blog more lately, soI'm trying to make it all cute and perfect.

24. Do you read comments posted on blogs?
Yes I do.

25. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?
Yes. I love trying out new things especially the ones people keep raving constantly about.

26. How did you come up with your blog name?
I took three of my favorite things and put a period after each one.. haha how creative -_-

27. What kind of camera do you use for your photographs?
I use my iPhone 5, haha not professional at all, but I don't think my pictures are too bad if I do say so myself. But, I could be wrong :,)

28. How often do you clean your house?
I try to aim for once a week.

29. What's your favourite colour?
Pink.

30. Do you swear?
Yes. A lot. Sorry, not sorry.

31. What are you doing with the rest of your day?
I'm taking online classes over the summer so that :/

Top 3 Favorite Hair Products

I like to say I take good care of my hair, besides the fact that I do dye it from time to time. I do wash it every few days, I'm sure many of you heard that washing your hair everyday isn't good for your hair, and if you didn't hear it then you're hearing it now. My hair is also naturally straight and I do prefer when it's curly or wavy but i'm too lazy to curly it constantly. So I thought I would share with you 3 of my favorite hair products.

  • TRESemme Dry Shampoo: Like I said I don;t wash my hair everyday, I try to go 2 to 3 days in between but sometimes my hair does get a bit too oily. So dry shampoo is my best friend. It absorbs all the oil so no one will be able to tell that you haven't washed your hair. Personally, I like to spray some on before bed so that overnight the spray absorbs the oil instead of having my hair produce more.

  • TONI&GUY Casual Sea Salt Texturizing Spray: I got a sample of this a while back but I fell in love with it and needed to buy a big size of it. This formula gets you a wavy finish. After I wash and dry my hair I will spray some of this in my hair and put it in a bun overnight, and when you wake up and let down your hair it's all nice and wavy!

  • Herbal essences styling creme: This does the same thing as the spray except that it's in a creme form instead of a spray and it is also cheaper. I also put this on freshly washed and dried hair overnight and in the morning it gives my hair a wavy finish.

Natural Makeup Look

A lot of the time we don't have time to spend hours and hours doing our makeup and blending 200 eyeshadows together and contouring and highlighting our whole faces. Sometimes we only have time to do a natural makeup look where it looks like we're not even wearing any makeup.

These are the products I use but you can of course substitute them for anything you like:
  • pores no more by dr. brandt
  • FIT me! foundation by Maybelline New York
  • Scandaleyes mascara by Rimmel London
  • Luxe Lip in sheer pink by julep
  • Secret cover concealer cream by milani
  • highlighting powder by Julep
  • Ethereal eyeshadow by pacifica
  • Eye Primer by MICA beauty cosmetics
  • Dams black eyeshadow (used as eyeliner)
  • Baked Matte Satin Blush in exposed by Lorac
  • eyeliner brush by ecotools
  • buffing blush by real techniques
  • multi task brush by real techniques

First I use the pores no more primer all over my face, this helps make my pores appear smaller and it also sets my foundation and makes it last longer. Then I use the real techniques buffing brush to put on my maybelline New York fit me foundation. I put the smallest amount on the back of my hand and just use the brush to buff it in. I wait a couple minutes for the foundation to set then i use my fingers to apply the milani canceler to any red spots on my face and/or acne.

For my eyes, I star of with the MICA eye primer so that my eyeshadow does stay on all day, and it covers any of the little gains that are on my eyes. Then I use the Pacifica eyeshadow, I pout on two coats on each eye and then with and eyeshadow (I use it as eyeliner) and put a line at the top of my lashes and then blend it in a little. I finish my eyes with two coats of the Scandeleyes mascara.

I use the real techniques all purpose brush to put on my blush, for this natural look I use the Lorac baked brush. This is such a pretty color and I love baked blushes and even eyeshadows. They come out so pretty. Then on top of my cheeks I will use the JULEP highlighter to brighten up my face.

The for my lips I will use a shiny lip gloss and for this look I decided to use one from JULEP and I thought it finished of the look real nicely. You don't want too much makeup for your natural look.

Weekly Favorites #2

Well, another week passed by and here are some of the things I have been loving this week. Some of these items I have had for a while and re discovered them, and some of these are fairly new but I'm already obsessed with and loving at the moment.

Frome left to right:
  • Alex and Ani (+) Energy Scent 7 Body Mist: I had this spray for the longest time, I think I got it around the end of last year. And for some reason when I first smelled it I didn't like the scent at all. But a few days ago I was clearing out my perfumes and I sprayed this and I actually really like it. It's one of the fresh smells. however, I don't use it as a body spray I use it for my room to make it smell nice.

  • Dr.Jart+ BB Beauty Balm: I got this as a sample in one of the subscription boxes, i'm pretty sure it was Ipsy, and I loved it when i first tried it and then it sort of got lost in all of my make up. I used the last bit I had the other day and I absolutely love it, and I will re purchase another one for sure. I use it as a foundation and it covered my spots up so well it was unbelievable. And i'm surprised at how well it also matched my skin color.

  • milani 07 natural beige concealer cream: this had been the only concealer I use for as long as I can remember. This week especially I have horrible breakouts and this covers them up so well. It's not too thick and heavy and it does last for most of the day and it was so inexpensive! And I think the packaging is also super cute so that's a plus.

  • makeup bag from ipsy: so I JUST got this bag from ipsy a couple days ago and I am absolutely in love with it. I think it's the cutest one they ever came up with. I use it for all my pens and highlighters for school to make school a little bit more fun and cute. You can of course use it for makeup.

  • Journals: I have a weird obsession with collecting journals. I have a bajilion of them and half are empty because I don't know what to use them for. But I recently got these two and I have been loving them. I use the top one for all my school assignments and I use the bottom one as sort of ideas and inspiration for this blog. I think both are so adorable. The top one is from Burlington and the bottom one, has the Eiffel tower and it's from Barns and Noble.

FIT me! Foundation Review

I have always stubbled to find the perfect foundation that covers all my acne and red spots. I went to makeup specialists and they recommended me so much foundation that was just... shitty. It took me forever to finally jump on the band wagon and try the Maybelline FIT me! foundation. And I honestly think it is so amazing. I tried the dewy one first, and since my skin is already really oily I didn't really like that one. But, the Matte one is just amazing. My shade is 112 natural ivory, and it blends in so well and matches my skin tone so nicely. I don't get that line around my jawline like with a lot of foundations that are meant to be my shade. This lasts all day and it doesn't get all oily throughout the day.

I do pair my foundation with the pores no more by dr. brandt because I do have fairly large pores. This also does make the foundation go on a lot smoother and you don't get those lines when you apply it on with a brush.

As you can see my skin looks almost perfect! it's not like that only in the picture, in real life it looks good too! And I am loving this foundation and I feel like it's saved my skin!! I am definitely not switching back to any of the other ones I have been using and this one might be just most favorite thing I own (well not really but you get my point haha!)

*All opinions are my own*

Facial Masks

My favorite beauty related item is probably a good facial masks. I have tried quite a few masks in my lifetime and some of them I hated and other I fell in love with. (I tried this pumpkin one before and it smelled so gross I couldn't leave it on for longer than a minute!) I think the main reason I love facial masks is because I have pretty bad skin. I have been dealing with acne since I was like 14 (I'm 21 now... yeah.) so I love finding new things for my skin I love. I have been told time and time again that you have only one face for the rest of your life so you need to take really good care of it. I want to share some of my favorite masks with anyone that also has horrible skin, or for anyone that loves trying out new products! :)

All of these masks are from ULTA and they're not expensive at all. There is a sale going on at the moment where it's buy one get one half of which I think is great. I have been using these for about a month each and these are my own reviews and opinions.

  • Charcoal & Black Sugar Polishing Mask: I think this is the scariest ask i've tried! I would never think I would put charcoal on my face.. But then I heard charcoal masks are really good for your skin and I agree. This mask is meant to purify your skin and it is for all skin types. It does have sugar so it's not smooth and it is really chunky. But i really do feel the difference after I used it and my skin just feels so much cleaner.

  • Cucumber Peel-Off Mask: This one is my favorite just because it peels of.. but it's so satisfying when you're peeling it and it feels like you're peeling off all the first that's on your skin. It is clear and it does take a bit to dry but it's so refreshing after you use it. This one is for normal/combo skin.

  • Mint & Lemon Clay Mask: This one is the one that smells the nicest! And the mint feels so nice and cool on your skin while it dries. Clay masks aren't my favorite because they feel gross and heavy on my skin but I actually really like this one. This one is for breakout/Oily skin which is definitely perfect for me and I feel like this one makes my skin the most different. I strongly recommend this one for anyone who is struggling with controlling breakouts.

BlogLovin

These past few days I have been so into my blog and making it better and bigger. I'm so excited to see where this takes me, even if it's nowhere its better to try and fail then to never know at all. My blog is on BlogLovin and it would be so awesome if you guys would follow it (only if you really want to obviously)

May Ipsy 2015

First of all can we all just take a minute and appreciate how cute the bag this month is?! I will definitely use it for something. I think this is by far my most favorite bag EVER. Anyway.. it's time for the monthly Ipsy and as always I won't be reviewing anything (I only got this today) but I just wanted to show the items that are included in this months bag.

  • Peter Lamas Detoxifying Citrus C Facial Cleanser
  • pixie by petra Bronzer in summertime
  • Caviar CC Cream leave in hair perfector
  • bellapierre cosmetics get eye liner
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Lip pencil
  • Urban Decay sheer revolution lipstick in the colors Failbait and Bittersweet

Out of all the samples I am most excited to try out the face cleanser and the hair perfector. I have really horrible skin at the moment and I want to see if this will help it in any way and I am also obsessed with trying out hair products because my hair does also get damaged so easily.

Summer Nail Polish

Summer is just around the corner and that means... colors! So you can leave your blacks and grey's behind and start wearing some color wether that's on your face, in your wardrobe or on your nails.I'd like to share some of my favorite nail polishes that are more summer appropriate and most of them are pretty bright! (As I was looking through all my nail polish I noticed how most of them are pink and red haha)

From left to right:
  • SINFULCOLORS Professional 952 HAZARD
  • Loreal 110 crazy for chic
  • Loreal 109 orange you jealous? (how cute is this one?!)
  • Loreal 440 caught red-handed
  • Sally Hansen 340 Something New
  • Julep Brandis

Weekly Favorites #1

I want to get into the habit of posting on my blog more often than I do. I decided to do a weekly favorites and TRY to keep it up. (Knowing me that won't last very long.) I hate how lazy I am sometimes. Anyway it's like a monthly favorite except that it's going to be things I enjoy that week. It will be anywhere from movies to T.V shows to books to makeup to clothes to accessories to just random objects. I'm really excited and I hope I keep this up.

Here are some thing's I've been enjoying this week! (some even longer!)

  • Fit Me Foundation by Maybelline New York: This if for normal to dry skin so the formula is pretty watery and it does have a dewy finish. It blends so nicely and it also is a light finish. I would definitely recommend this to people who have dry skin. The one in the picture is 115 Ivory.

  • Baby Lips Crystal by Maybelline New York: I have so many of the Baby Lips Chap sticks but this one is by far my most favorite! The one above ( I can't remember the color and it doesn't say on the product) is really light so it just comes out glittery which I think looks so cute in the summer.

  • Eye Primer by MICA Beauty Cosmetics: I never used eye primer until I got sent this one in last months IPSY. Even if you don't wear eyeshadow you can just but this on and it acts like a canceler for your eyes and it covers all the little gains on your eyes. And if you do wear eyeshadow it does make it stay on a lot longer and it doesn't flake.

  • Pacifica Eyeshadow: This has been my favorite for months and months and months. It's my go to eyeshadow. I love the color and it looks so natural it is called Ethereal. It does have some shimmer in it and it looks so nice when I use it on top of the MICA eye primer.

  • Illuminance Creme Eyeshadow by Revlon: I was never a fan of creme eyeshadows but one of the colors in this pallet is so beautiful I became a fan of them. You don't need a primer for there but the colors are so nice and they look really shiny when you apply them.

Things I Want To Do This Summer

Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture
One more week and I'm done with school and finals for the summer. I am super excited for this summer because I want to be more productive and adventurous than ever before. I want to make almost a "bucket list" for the summer and try to cross off as many items as I possibly can.
  • Spend more time at the beach
  • Explore downtown
  • Read at least one book every 2 weeks
  • Go to a festival
  • Take more walks
  • Go shopping
  • Go on a road trip
  • Exercise at least 3 times a week
  • Pass all my online classes
  • Get a nice tan
