September Favorites

Can't believe September is over! this month literally flew by! Sine starting school I haven't had the time to try any new products so all my September favorites are old things I re discovered. A lot of the products here are my old favorites and things I've been loving for a really long time.

In this months favorites I have included a lotion, a body spray, hair oil, foundation, an eyeliner and an eye shadow. All of these are drug store products you can find anywhere.

My first favorite is this coconut water chill lotion from bath and body works. I absolutely love anything coconut so this is my favorite thing in the world. I do have a couple of coconut lotions but this one is by far my favorite because the scent isn't too strong. A lot of lotions also leave your skin feeling really sticky and this one dries on so well and you can't even feel you have lotion on. And did I mention how nice it smells. It's absolutely amazing. This was in their summer line so I'm not sure if you can still find it but I would definitely keep an eye out.

My next favorite from September is the Japanese cherry blossoms shimmer mist from bath and body works as well. I think this is my favorite scent from bath and body works. I love this mist because it does have shimmer inside so when you spray it you glow. I think it looks absolutely beautiful in the summer. It's also not too much so it doesn't look like you rolled around in a bunch of glitter. It also smells so nice.

My next September favorites is the Suave Moroccan infusion styling oil. I have had this for years and it is absolutely amazing. So wonderful. I ombre'd my hair before so the ends are still pretty damaged and this stuff makes it look a bajilion and one times better. I use it every time I wash my hair while blow drying it and it makes it look like I have no split ends. I don't think I have ever found anything that works so well on my hair. I have tried other oils before but I found that some leave my hair looking really oily and this one just makes it look shiny.

This next one is my favorite foundation of all time. It's the Rimmel London match perfection in shade 101 classic ivory. Everyone is raving about them and I don't blame them. This stuff is amazing. I have repurchased this like 100 times. My skin is super oily and I find that this foundation gives a nice amount of coverage and this doesn't make my skin too oily or too dry. And I like how this isn't heavy coverage so it doesn't make my skin look all cakey and I feel like my skin actually looks perfect with this foundation. And also it's so inexpensive.

My next favorite is the DAMS micronized eye shadow in the color black. This is meant to be an eye shadow but I use it as an eyeliner and it's so nice. I put some on an angled brush and put it on and it comes on so nicely. It also stays on all day which doesn't happen very often with eye shadow.

My last but not least September Favorite is the Rimmel London scandal eyes waterproof eyeliner. I didn't know it was waterproof when I got it so it's such a pain to wash it off but it is such a good product. The lines come on so smoothly and it's so dark. I think it's such a good product for a drug store brand. It has been my favorite eye liner since I can remember. I would definitely recommend this.

Tea Tree Blemish Kit

I have tried a bajilion and one different products and I feel nothing works. There are products that help and do take the acne away but then I am left with blemishes and red spots all over my face. I do cover it with makeup and you can't tell I have anything but then makeup makes me break out even more. It's like a cycle. So I did some research and a lot of people were recommending the tea tree blemish kit by The Body shop. This is for sensitive skin and my skin is very sensitive. I also like how it's not expensive because if it doesn't work I'm not wasting too much money. I used just the face mask before and I did notice a difference so I have high hopes for this and I hope I don't get disappointed. I used this today and it left my face so soft and nice. It had this cooling feeling to it and it didn't burn like a lot of products tend to do.

This kit includes the following products:

  • Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash. It is meant to help prevent blemishes and removes excess oil. It's gel based and it doesn't over dry the skin how most oil free products tend to do. It's also very gentle on your skin so it's safe to use every day.
  • Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner. Tones your skin. First you have to shake it to "activate" it. It removes your makeup and any dirt that may be on your skin. It leaves your skin matte which is nice if you have really oily skin.
  • Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion. This moisturizes your skin with a light lotion that hydrates your skin and controls the oil on your face. This also helps prevent blemishes.
  • Tea Tree Oil. This oil is also used to prevent blemishes and since it is an oil it doesn't dry up your skin. A lot of products that are suppose to get rid of blemishes do dry up your face so this one sounds really nice.
  • Tea Tree Face Mask. This mask absorbs oil and it's meant to be used once a week.
A lot of these products are used to get rid of the oil on your face. Oil can cause breakouts because it contains a lot of dirt and it clogs your pores. However, not having oil on your face means your face will be too dry and that's not good for your skin either. I think this kit balances it out. It does remove oil however it won't make your skin too dry. I will use this product for a couple weeks and write another post about how I think it's working.

Candle Haul

I wouldn't really call this a haul but I went shopping today and picked up some amazing candles from bath and body works and I thought I would share them. I also went because I did have some coupons to use so I only spent $19 and originally it would have been over $40. So that was a bargain and I'm pretty happy.
This first one is by far my favorite. It's the harvest peach. It smells absolutely amazing! I have it burning right now and it really does fill up the whole room. Also the three wick candles are awesome because the candle melts evenly so it keeps its nice shape even when it's almost burnt out.

The second one I picked up was the farm stand apple and this one also smells amazing. It literally smells like apples. It's beautiful. I wanted to buy more autumn-y candles and I think this one is kinda autumn-y. I haven't burned this one yet but i'm pretty excited. They also come with lids so that when you aren't burning it you can keep the lid on so it won't get dusty or if you just want to have a cute lid on it.

This last candle I got for free because of a coupon and they didn't have the best selection if I'm being completely honest. But this one was the most okay scented ones. It's called the autumn night and it kinda smells to me like laundry detergent.. so it isn't bad but it's not the best.

Just Breathe.

It's only Monday and I already feel so stressed about school and just life in general. It wasn't even a bad day I just tend to get so anxious about school and overwhelmed and I just want to cry. School started about two weeks ago and I already feel so stressed! I was about to start on my homework but I felt like I needed time to just think and breath and not do anything school related. Sometimes we get so caught up in our lives we forget to take care of ourselves. The amount of times I skip meals because I don't have time to eat is ridiculous. And I barely get any sleep at night sometimes. Life is stressful and hard at times but we still need to find time for ourselves; we'd go crazy if we didn't.

I'm not gonna lie, I am most defiantly not the most positive person out there. To be honest I'm not very positive at all. Lately however, I have been a lot happier and I think it has to do a lot with the way I think. I try to not let things get to me and when something is bothering me I reassure myself it could always be worse. We all have a bad day once in a while but it's soo bad to have those bad days all the time. Sometimes we just need to let things go. You can't change a situation so why waste your time worrying about it?

In the past couple of months (almost a year) I have been such an unhappy person. And I know why, but I can't change it. However I decided to just go with the flow and whatever is meant to be, it will be. I'm a strong believer in "everything happens for a reason." And I truly believe it does. There's thing in life we want but sometimes we just have to wait and we don't have a choice but to wait. I'd be lying if I said I don't have bad days anymore or that my life is perfect. NO ONE'S life is perfect. We all just have to learn to deal with our problems and move on and live our life. I got tired of being so sad all the time and being sad never made anything better. All it did was make things worse. We need to start doing more things that make us happy no matter how big or small they may be. Wake up each morning and tell yourself to be happy that day, it really will make a difference (even if it is a little one).

I'm not going to sit here and tell you to be grateful because someone has it worse. Just because someone else has it worse doesn't mean your problems aren't important. We all have a right to feel anyway we want. No one should tell us "you can't be sad" or "you should smile some more." But what I will tell you is to keep your head up because one day it will get better. You might not notice it right away, but it will. <3

Top Five Lip Glosses

Who doesn't love a nice lip gloss?! There's like a bajilion and one colors and lip glosses out there and I just want them all. I want to share with you my top five favorite ones today. I do have a pretty big collection but to be honest I don't even use half of them I just like collecting them. These are all drug store lip glosses so they are all affordable and won't leave you broke:) I do tend to sick to the light pinks and light colors because I'm too scared for bright colors and even reds!

I do have two lip crayons but I'll just count them as lip glosses because I only have two so it would be pointless to make a separate post for favorite lip crayons... These all range from Revlon to Covergirl to NYX.

This first one is the Revlon colorstay moisture stain in the shade 010 LA exclusive. I have mentioned this in the August favorites and here I am mentioning it again because I just love it so much. It is more of a summer shade so I'm not sure how much wear I'll be getting out of it in the fall but it is so good and stays pretty long on your lips and I'm absolutely in love with it. BUY IT!!! ;)

This second one is the COVERGIRL lipperfection jumbo gloss balm. This one is in the shade 210. I really like this and they have so many pretty shades. It is a bit drying so like almost every lip product I always use a bit of chap stick before putting it on. This color is a bit more subtle and not too noticeable but it still looks really pretty on your lips.
Here's another REVLON lipbam (to be honest I think Revlon's lip products are my favorite.) This one is the REVLON Just Bitten Kissable in the shade 040 Rendezvous (I think that's the name lolz.) I really like this one because it has a minty taste to it and it doesn't dry out your lips. Its also a pretty orange color so this one is super summery.

This one is the NYX butter gloss in the color 04 Merengue (I swear they're nicer than the names.) But this shade is so gorgeous on your lips I can't get tired of it. I feel like this is my go to lipgloss and I'm obsessed with it. I love the consistency its not too sticky or gooey its just so lovely.

This one is the same as above but it's in the shade 08 Apple Strudel and i'm equally in love with this one. This color isn't as noticeable when you put it on but it does give you a bit of a shine and it also looks gorgeous.

Personal Stylist

Ever since I was little I was obsessed with fashion. I loved shopping and would spend hours and hours looking through magazines and ripping out pages I fell in love with. The more I fell in love with it the more I wanted to work in the fashion business when I "grew up." Well... now i'm grown up and I have not achieved anything I wanted to achieve. I go to school full time and I study fashion business. However, I have my doubts and I feel like school is a waste of time and I just want to get into the real world. I have recently stumbled across a website called keatonrow.com where it hires people to be personal stylists. I thought it was really cool and I decided to try it out because what do I have to loose? The hard part however, is getting clients and people wanting you to style them. I kinda hope someone stumbles across my pages and likes something on there and decides to make me their personal stylist (a girl can dream, right?) If anyone is interested or even if you just want to look around I would greatly appreciate it. <3
